PUBLIC DATA · OFFICIAL EVIDENCE
← Data centreItaly adoption public data and analysis
Independent analysis of government records. Numbers describe proceedings or children as defined by each original publication, not the likelihood of adoption or predicted waiting times.
CAI UPDATE · FIRST HALF 2026
A newer national update, kept separate from historic profiles
CAI reported 217 completed intercountry adoptions in January–June 2026, versus 242 in the corresponding 2025 half-year. These are comparable half-year procedure counts, not available children; do not compare them with full-year child entry totals or court filings.
Juvenile courts and case activity
29 juvenile courts and three specific legal categories from the Ministry CSV. Four courts include verified local documentation.

Three numbers that do not mean the same thing
- Court proceedings
- Case filings, disposals and pending matters in a legal category, not child placements or the speed of matching.
- CAI procedures and files
- Administrative activities and authorisations during a defined reporting period. A case file is not automatically one child.
- Children authorised to enter
- Individual children, not procedures. Sibling groups mean one procedure can concern more than one child.
Why this data publication is different
Court filings, CAI authorisation procedures and individual children describe different stages and populations. Each figure therefore retains its exact definition and period so a comparison cannot become a misleading prediction.
